At the Commonwealth Group, we provide
thorough, objective clinical evaluations for
people who have been arrested for drunk or
impaired driving. Through our weekend
Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) program,
men and women of all ages and backgrounds
come to understand the serious consequences
of alcohol and drug abuse.Program attendees come from all over the
country, usually referred by the Motor
Vehicle Departments or courts in their home
states. We've implemented our program model
in several states, where it has been used
for many years with remarkable success.
For
instance:
- In Connecticut, nearly 4,000 DWI offenders
have participated since March of 1996, and
fewer than 5% of those participants have
been arrested again for DWI.
- In New Hampshire, where the program model
has been used since January of 1985, the
rate of re-arrest for DWI has dropped from
55% to 11%.
